Pedro Soto and his wife attended the Bridgerton-themed ball, expecting food, a bar, and an orchestra to match the ambiance. However, he explained to WXYZ Detroit that the venue displayed the opposite after spending hundreds of dollars on costumes, tickets, and accessories.“What we really got was Kool-Aid from a bottle, no bar, and not enough seats or chairs. We had to reuse cups, and there weren’t enough plates. The backdrops were just paper, and even the photographs cost extra,” Soto recalled.

The event, organized by Uncle N Me LLC, went viral on social media after attendees expressed their disappointment and stated that the company failed to deliver on its promises for the ball. This isn’t the first time the company has faced backlash for hosting a similar event; they also hosted a Bridgerton-themed tea party in June. In response to the criticism, the company released a statement to the outlet promising to address concerns and improve future events.

We understand that not everyone had the experience they hoped for at our most recent event Sunday night at The Harmonie Club, and for that, we sincerely apologize. Our intention was to provide a magical evening, but we recognize that organizational challenges affected the enjoyment of some guests. We take full responsibility and accountability for these shortcomings.

“Please know that we are working diligently to address all concerns to ensure that all guests have the enjoyable experience they deserve. Your feedback is invaluable, and we truly appreciate both the positive and constructive comments shared with us,” the statement continued.

Social media users also reacted to the viral event, some stating attendees should be more careful when booking events that are not officially sponsored by companies like Netflix.
