Whew! Sean Diddy Combs faces yet another lawsuit, this time from former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard. The lawsuit, which details Richard’s troubling experiences with the music mogul, alleges a pattern of abusive behavior that has become all too familiar in recent allegations against Diddy.
Dawn Richard, who gained fame as part of Diddy’s reality show “Making The Band” in 2004, alleges that Diddy manipulated her by promising to advance her music career in exchange for compliance with his alleged demands. She details how she was subjected to terrorization, belittlement, and sexual abuse at the hands of Diddy.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, she recounts instances where she witnessed Diddy verbally abuse female contestants, referring to them with derogatory terms such as “fat,” “ugly,” “b*tches,” and “hoes.” Richard claims that the emotional toll of these experiences left her fearing for her safety, particularly after witnessing the aftermath of an incident involving Kim Porter. Richard claims that in 2005, she witnessed Porter, leaving a recording studio visibly distressed and with injuries.
The lawsuit further details Richard’s observations of abuse directed at another artist, and his other ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Richard claims to have witnessed Diddy’s violent behavior on multiple occasions, including a 2009 incident where he allegedly dragged Cassie up a flight of stairs and another where he threw a hot pan of eggs at her. More alarmingly, Richard alleges a physical altercation where Diddy reportedly struck Cassie in the face and attempted to strangle her inside his Los Angeles mansion.
Richard recalls a moment when she and fellow group member Kalenna Harper attempted to intervene and offer Cassie support, only to be met with Diddy’s wrath. He reportedly said, “Y’all b*tches don’t get in my relationship,” and allegedly threatened their careers, stating, “I end artists … I shelve careers … You could be missing … You b*tches want to die today.”
In sharing her own traumatic experiences, Richard recounts the grueling rehearsal schedules imposed by Diddy, where she was made to practice for 48 hours straight without rest. This relentless pressure took a significant toll on her health, causing her to lose weight, become severely dehydrated, and suffer from debilitating rashes, per the documents.
The lawsuit also details instances of alleged inappropriate behavior from Diddy. Richard claims that he once summoned her to his Miami residence while only wearing underwear and, when she requested that he dress, he refused, shouting, “This is my f**king house!” Additionally, she alleges that Diddy forcibly entered her dressing room while naked and inappropriately touched her.
To compound her allegations, Richard asserts that there was an incident where Diddy locked her in a car for two hours, leaving her to call for help from behind dark-tinted windows.
As the legal battle unfolds, the entertainment industry watches closely to see how these serious allegations will impact Diddy’s career and reputation.
So far he has settled the biggest lawsuit against him which was the one filed by Cassie Ventura in November. With the latest suit added to this growing list, this is just another legal battle Diddy will have to suit up for.
