Carín León sings songs of love, resilience and heartbreak into undeniable hits — and his consistant string of No. 1s proves it. With his nasally voice and heartfelt delivery, León has built a repertoire that feels tailor-made for cantina sing-alongs and tear-streaked nights. His latest achievement? “Me Está Doliendo,” a duet with Mexican legend Alejandro Fernández, ascended to No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart (dated August 23).
“Imagine recording with Alejandro Fernández, an icon of Mexican music,” León recently told Billboard. “If we discuss this genre and don’t mention him, we’re definitely overlooking something important. It fills me with pride to see so many dreams coming true and to be involved in such beautiful moments with someone so talented.”
The 36-year-old singer’s ability to dominate the regional Mexican genre is noteworthy. Since his first chart-topper in 2021 — “El Tóxico” with Grupo Firme — he’s proven to be a constant presence. His swoon-worthy breakup tracks like “Que Vuelvas” with Grupo Frontera (six weeks at No. 1) and solo efforts such as “Indispensable” (three weeks) showcase his widespread appeal. Whether through duets with genre heavyweights like Maluma and Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga — or rising stars-turned-hitmakers Frontera — León’s adaptability has become his secret weapon.
Spanning solo triumphs, powerhouse collaborations and fresh takes on norteño and mariachi, León is painting the Regional Mexican charts in his unmistakable hues. With “Me Está Doliendo” now part of his decorated catalog, the Hermosillo-born artist proves there’s no ceiling to his success — and plenty more records to break.
Superstar Carín León will be at Billboard Latin Music Week 2025, taking place Oct. 20-24 at the Fillmore Miami Beach. Registration is now open.
