On Thursday, former President Donald Trump announced that he will not participate in any additional debates with Kamala Harris leading up to the 2024 election.
In a message shared on his social media platform, Trump claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris had the opportunity to either accept an invitation to debate on Fox News on September 4 or could have arranged for a second debate prior to the one hosted by ABC News.
“She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” Trump posted on his social media platform. ” Trump shared.
Soon after Trump’s social media update, Harris appeared at a rally in North Carolina, where she expressed her eagerness to confront the former president once more. “I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate, because this election and what are at stake could not be more important,” Harris told supporters.
Trump and Harris faced off in a debate on Tuesday, marking their first encounter since Harris was named the Democratic candidate in late July. Throughout the debate, the vice president made several attempts to provoke Trump, often succeeding as he veered off into discussions about crowd sizes, President Biden, and a conspiracy theory regarding migrants allegedly kidnapping pets in an Ohio community.

Following the debate, Harris’s campaign quickly pushed for a second debate between the two candidates. In response, Trump hesitated, indicating that he was not particularly interested in participating in another one.
The former president had earlier agreed to participate in a Fox News debate in early September and an NBC debate later that month. However, Harris’s campaign stated that a second debate would rely on both candidates taking part in Tuesday’s event organized by ABC News.
