Rick Ross Explains Why He Came Off Worse In Fight With Drake Fans

Rick Ross believes his dust-up with Drake fans at a Canadian music festival earlier this year would’ve ended differently with the right backup.

The MMG mogul was grilled about the viral scuffle on Yung Miami‘s Caresha Please show, where the City Girls star asked about his claim that he didn’t actually get punched, despite video footage showing otherwise.

Rozay doubled down on his denial, replying: “You saw a video of what? Like I said, Rozay felt like a drink was [thrown]. ‘Cause once I — ‘Get back, pussy n-ggas!’ That whole shit cleared up.”

Ross then claimed that the brawl, during which he fled the scene shortly after being sucker punched and members of his entourage were badly beaten, would’ve had a different outcome with the right friends by his side.

“All my homies that traveled with me, them n-ggas couldn’t come in ’cause of their felonies,” he said. “If I would’ve just had two or three more of my homies with me, we would’ve stripped them n-ggas out their drawers and socks.”

Rozay clarified that he was only accompanied by his assistant and his DJ, who he referred to as his “little homies,” as well as one security guard at the time.

The “Hustlin’” hitmaker also denied that he and his crew were licking their wounds on the flight home, saying: “We got our paper, we got to the jet and, as a matter of fact, we went and had some Wingstop, so that was light work.”

He added: “I ain’t even tripping ’cause like I told them, ‘Y’all n-ggas did that like a G. Everybody got to the crib. That’s what it’s about.’ … We had a conversation. ‘Let’s get back to the money.’ All my homies that usually travel with me, them the n-ggas that was upset. They was more upset than us.”

The fight broke out at Vancouver’s Ignite Music Festival in June and was seemingly sparked by Rick Ross playing Kendrick Lamar‘s Drake diss song “Not Like Us” as he finished performing.

Footage of the backstage altercation showed Rozay and his entourage arguing with another group before one of the men sucker punched the rapper in the face, igniting an all-out brawl.

Ross was later seen slipping out of the parking lot to safety while his associates were outnumbered and beaten up, with one left lying unconscious on the floor.

The Biggest Bawse later posted a photo of his face revealing he did not suffer any visible injuries, and downplayed the fight by saying: “I’m still convinced ain’t no n-gga punched me […] I said, ‘Nah, he had to throw a drink.’”
