Diddy will remain in federal custody after being denied bail

According to TMZ, Diddy’s attorney disputed the portrayal of him as a “brute and bully.” The attorney suggested that there was more to the 2016 incident involving Diddy and his then-girlfriend, Cassie after footage emerged of Diddy in a hotel hallway wearing only a towel. Diddy’s team claims that the incident occurred after Cassie, referred to as “victim one,” found out about his multiple girlfriends, hit him with a phone, and left with his clothes.

The defense also suggested that the relationship between Diddy and Cassie, which was once mutual, has become toxic. They also mentioned that she allegedly cheated on Diddy for years with her now-husband Alex Fine, who was the trainer hired by Diddy for her. Her representatives have not commented on these claims. However, prosecutors have presented a strong case for denying bail. They have expressed concerns that Diddy might intimidate witnesses or obstruct justice if released.

They revealed that several witnesses had voiced fear during interviews and pointed out an incident where Diddy allegedly called former artist Kalenna 54 times a day before she released a statement in connection with a recent lawsuit. Prosecutors also raised concerns about his resources, arguing that his wealth and connections would make him a flight risk. They noted that narcotics were found in his hotel room during his arrest, including ecstasy and other drugs.

In court, Diddy entered a not-guilty plea to all charges. Despite offering a staggering $50 million bond, including his $48 million Miami mansion and his mother’s home as collateral, and agreeing to wear a GPS monitor and limit travel, the court deemed him too much of a risk. If convicted, Diddy faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison.
