Cardi B is not happy about being sued for allegedly not paying the rental fee for the mansion used in her “Like What” music video, and claims to have receipts that prove otherwise.
According to the complaint, which seeks damages of $35,000, Cardi and Offset (who directed the video) put together a plan to use the property “without paying full market value.”
The legal filing claims that the estranged couple, who are currently going through a divorce, operated anonymously to hire the mansion and “under the false pretense” that the rental was to film a TikTok video.
The luxury pad, located in Beverly Hills, was previously rented by Justin Bieber and has also appeared in a Logan Paul music video.
We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6am to 6am the next morning and we went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March. There was cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners was there… pic.twitter.com/qu8KogsZzs

Cardi vehemently rejects the claims, hitting out at the lawsuit on X (formerly Twitter).
She wrote: “We paid those people $10,000 IN CASH to rent the property for a whole 24 hours that same day 6am to 6am the next morning and we went over by ONE hour which we paid overage fees to the realtor for in March. There was cameras all over and both the realtors and the owners was there the ENTIRE time…
“I got pics and videos of them on set!! Now they wanna finesse us trying to say we told them it was a TikTok video when that was nowhere in the contract and like they didn’t hear the whole song playing and see how long we was shooting….Why would it take us 24 hours to shoot a TikTok? The problem is people wanna find loopholes and get over but IRON YOUR BEST SUIT BITCH I’ll see you in court!!!!”
The Bronx rap star also posted screenshots of text messages between herself and Offset arranging the hire of the property, as well as proof of a $4,500 transaction to the realtor.
The legal dispute comes shortly after Cardi B gave birth to her third child with Offset, from whom she filed for divorce for a second time months earlier.
The estranged couple welcomed a baby girl on September 7, with Cardi announcing the birth days later in an Instagram post which said: “The prettiest lil thing.”
Cardi and Offset have still not publicly revealed the name of the child but did release an intimate video of them enjoying precious family time together after the baby’s arrival.
