50 Cent isn’t the only one currently at odds with Dame Dash, and the G-Unit mogul is reveling in the fact that Steve Stoute also shares a dislike for him.
As previously reported, 50 made claims during a recent interview that “Dame has no money,” which led to a back and forth when the latter tried to pull receipts that show otherwise. When Dash went on to discuss the matter one more time on Instagram Live, his teeth appeared to fall out [Dame later explained it was his grill], which 50 had a field day with on his social media.
Now in a new interview, Steve Stoute also addressed the unflattering moment and called Dame “embarrassing.”
“It’s embarrassing actually. It goes from a point where it’s like, whatever haha rap beef — ‘You didn’t make it, you’re not that guy’ — to your teeth are falling out,” he said. “I mean seriously, your teeth are falling out. You’re lying through your teeth and your teeth are falling out. You’re trying to create and muster animosity with anybody to create some momentum around some bullshit?”
Sharing the clip to his Instagram, 50 echoed Steve’s sentiments in his caption.
“It’s embarrassing I mean its da Rock,” he wrote, referring to Dame’s former label, Roc-A-Fella Records. “what is you doing playing wit 50.”
Earlier this year, Steve Stoute sat down for an interview with Shannon Sharpe where he said Dame Dash “blew it” when it came to handling JAY-Z and the once-successful label the two founded alongside Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
“The people around him wanted to meet with other people. People were becoming less beholden to him but he was unaware of it,” Stoute said. “And then while he was building businesses, he would go off all around the world with cameras and girls and all kinds of crazy shit, and then come back flipping on everybody as if [they were wrong].”
He added: “Jay grew up, Jay wanted more. I think Jay saw Dame’s ceiling and I think that’s really what it was. He wanted more. Everybody wanted more. Dame just had a very particular way of approaching things.
“He’s far from stupid — very, very smart, very talented. Ego through the roof. So there was no working with him. No one wanted to work with him. Jimmy Iovine had this line: ‘When the shit gets bigger than the cat, you gotta get rid of the cat.’”
Dash promptly hit back at Nas‘ former manager on Instagram, writing: “This is the reason I had to smack the shit out of @stevestoute a couple years ago…because he’s always speaking on other men’s business good thing I’ve evolved.”
