Yikes! Michigan rapper DDG, 26, and New Jersey rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden, 44, came for each other online after Budden commented on DDG’s recent slit from singer and actress Halle Bailey, 24.

As we previously shared on Thursday (October 3), DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., took to his Instagram Story and announced that he and Halle Bailey split.
The couple — who recently welcomed a baby boy together named Halo Granberry — immediately began scrubbing each other’s photos from their social media pages. Since their split announcement, Joe Budden has taken to a recent episode of his self-titled podcast to share his thoughts about DDG and Halle Bailey.
In a now-viral clip, Budden spoke with his co-hosts and said, “[The question] to my distinguished panel is — the question I’ve been asking myself for quite some time — who the f**k is DDG? And why am I supposed to care about his thoughts on anything?”

Budden then directly addressed DDG and Bailey’s split and said, “I’m very happy that they have broken up so I don’t get to keep seeing this name attached to this girl’s name when I don’t know him for nothing as a stand-alone. And for me, it’s important to know people based off their own name and merit and what they have done.”
He continued, “Every time I see his name, it’s attached to hers and it’s typically in some type of clout chaser fashion so that makes me look at him in a different way and hopefully, I get to look at him a lot less now that they’ve broken up.” Budden also addressed a phony Instagram Story that appeared to have come from DDG’s Close Friends.
It read, “I’m a grown man. I can make my own decisions. We chose to split because of personal reasons. Nah, it’s not a skit. I’m not hurt and I’m not missing out on anything, and her head game is [trash emoji] AF lol. As long as my son good, I’m good.” DDG eventually addressed the post and denied writing it, claiming, “I don’t even use Close Friends. Stop being weird.”
However, Joe Budden had already commented on the post and said, “You saying her head game is trash? Gon’ go get their own account. N***as gon’ go find out on their own No. 1. And No. 2, if it was that trash, why you sntach that cherry so fast, my boy? I mean, if her head was as bad as you said, that cherry didn’t levitate long, before you got in action, DDG.”
Joe Budden continued to slam DDG for seemingly appearing as a clout chaser leeching onto Halle Bailey and her success. Having caught Budden’s comments, the YouTuber-turned-rapper fired off on X and started comparing his accomplishments to Budden’s.
He tweeted, “‘Pump It Up’ went gold after 20 years you old b*tch. @JoeBudeen, I’m on you.” Accompanied with the tweet were photos of Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” Gold certification against DDG’s 3 gold and 1 platinum tracks. DDG then stated, “[I don’t] be tripping ‘bout the girls sayin’ sh*t ‘cause I’m used to it. It’s all love. But you n***as with platforms gon’ get a response fasho.”
In a third and final tweet, he said, “N***a got 30 years MAX of life left and speaking on a relationship of people the same age of his son [you don’t] take of. I hope you forget to take your magnesium pills today you old b*tch? @JoeBudden.” Replying to DDG’s post comparing accomplishments, Joe Budden simply quote-retweeted and said “Lol.” In a follow-up tweet, he said, “I love this place lol.”
