Austin, TX –

Tyler, The Creator has called out Elon Musk live on stage, U-turning on his stance towards the controversial Tesla CEO and owner of X.

While performing at Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas this past weekend, the Odd Future founder changed some of the lyrics on his song “911” to take a shot at Musk.

Instead of rapping the original line, “Sucks you can’t gas me up, shout out to Elon Musk,” Tyler tweaked it to: “Fuck Elon” — to a favorable reception from the crowd in attendance.

Tyler had previously been a big supporter of Musk’s, writing on X (then Twitter) in 2016: “I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY AND ANY IDEAS YOU HAVE AND STUFF GO FOR THEM NO MATTER WHAT NIGGAS SAY SHOUT OUT ELON MUSK.”

Musk replied by saying: “Thanks Tyler.”

Tyler also wrote about the South African-born businessman: “I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR CHANGING THE WORLD AND MAKING THE EVIL OIL MEN WHO RUN THE WORLD HATE YOU.”

A number of other Hip Hop figures have recently done business with Elon Musk.

Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league is now streaming on X, although the rapper and actor was criticized for partnering with the Musk-owned platform.

Cube hit back at the criticism by saying: “Shut yo bitch ass up! I ain’t aligned with nothing, punk. I draw my own fuckin lines.”

Swizz Beatz also defended his and Timbaland’s decision to partner with X for their Verzuz battle series earlier this year.

He said on Instagram: “But nobody said anything before we been on that platform since Verzuz started.”

The two legendary producers announced the deal with Musk’s social media platform in June.

“We are beyond thrilled to have found the best partner for Verzuz,” the Ruff Ryders beatmaker said. “Not only are we excited to have Verzuz on X, we’re excited to help X build the biggest entertainment company in the world.

“I would like to thank Elon Musk, Linda Yaccarino, Brett Weitz, Mitchell Smith and the entire X team for believing in the Verzuz vision. We can’t wait to get to work.”

Timbo added: “We are thrilled to partner with X, the most innovative platform globally. Our goal has always been to bring Verzuz to the world which we can now do bigger than ever.”
