Snoop Dogg signee October London just released a new song with Tyrese – but the track nearly burned down the Fast & Furious star’s Atlanta mansion when they previewed it for friends.
On Wednesday (October 9), the Death Row artist stopped by The Breakfast Club to discuss the new single, titled “Bedroom Bully.” And while there, he recalled an alm0st-house fire thanks to a friend’s excitement and some hookah.
“My boy Jamie was listening to the music, he got hyped up and he was just like, ‘Woo! This gonna be the record! it’s gonna be crazy!’” he said. “And he got up and he knocked [the hookah] over and nobody noticed at first. And I turned and I looked and I saw one of the security guys moving really fast and he starting patting on the floor.
“And I’m like, ‘What the hell is he doing – the stanky leg or something?’ I don’t know what the hell he’s doing. And I was just like, ‘Okay, alright, I guess he’s feeling the record.’ And I look and I’m like, ‘Oh, oh! The rug’s on fire!’”
Thankfully, they were able to put it out in time and Tyrese’s home remained unscathed.
Watch October London recount the incident below.
In 2016, October London signed to a then-joint venture between Snoop and Jazze Pha, which also led him to create the opening theme song for VH1’s Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party series.
Though the partnership later dissolved, he then signed to Death Row Records upon Snoop acquiring the iconic label.
Charlie Bereal also recently joined the roster that includes D Smoke and Jane Handcock as well as original acts Danny Boy, Tha Dogg Pound and Snoop Dogg himself.
Back in November, Busta Rhymes named London as one of his dream collaborators, likening him to Marvin Gaye.
The singer responded to Busta’s praise on Instagram, writing: “Man, I swear this made my day. @bustarhymes [phone emoji] Me brotha! Let’s make this happen!”
Most recently, October London appeared on Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge‘s NxWorries album, Why Lawd?
