Wiz Khalifa is reportedly facing an indictment in Romania due to his on-stage marijuana use during the Beach, Please! Festival this past summer, according to a report by @xxl.
As we previously shared on July 13, Wiz Khalifa was seen in a viral video that captured the moment he was taken into custody for smoking a joint during his set. He was later released, and Romanian authorities released a statement about the incident that took place during the summer. “Investigations revealed that during a performance at a music festival in the Costinești resort, Constanța County, he possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis (a risk drug) and consumed another quantity of cannabis on stage in the form of a hand-rolled cigarette,” the statement read.
Now on Monday (October 21), Romania-Insider provided an update regarding the case of Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa. Local authorities have decided to indict him for drug-related offenses following a Constanța Tribunal session on October 16. In Romania, recreational marijuana use is prohibited. The report indicates that if found guilty, Khalifa could face a sentence ranging from three months to two years in prison, or potentially a fine.
Wiz Khalifa, who became a father to a baby girl just under two weeks after his arrest, spoke out about the incident on X (formerly Twitter) the day after it occurred.
“Last nights show was amazing,” he typed. “I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a*s joint next time.”
