In his new interview with GQ, Katt Williams recently explained why he decided to take a few jabs at Diddy during his viral interview with Shannon Sharpe on his podcast, “Club Shay Shay.”
During the interview, the standup comedy legend was questioned about Diddy, who has had a tough 2024 marked by his arrest in New York and charges related to trafficking and racketeering in an indictment. Though Williams didn’t mention Diddy by name he chose to mention the late 2Pac, whose 1996 murder has resurfaced in the news following the 2023 arrest of Duane Davis. As we all know, Diddy has never been officially implicated in 2Pac’s death, yet his name often comes up in broader discussions surrounding the case.
“I loved Tupac,” Williams told the magazine. “And I felt like we were kindred spirits. So if I hear you responsible for knocking my n***a off … I don’t give a fuck what job I end up being in, I don’t care how things go, if I can get a way to get you, that’s what I’m all about. I just don’t like you walking around scot-free.” He added, “Cause you a demon, and I know demons are powerful, but I know why there powerful…
It’s cold spiritual warfare going on out here in the real world. And part of my job is to not lose focus on that.”
During his conversation with Shannon, Katt brought up Diddy while discussing the significant multimillion-dollar deals he claims to have declined.
“’Cause P. Diddy be wanting to party, and you got to tell him no,” he said at the time. “You got to tell him no. I did. See, I got the receipts for everything I’m telling you, that’s why I can say them so freely.”
