Not good news for Trey Songz: The R&B singer has been ordered to pay not $1, but $11 million to a Maryland Capitol police officer for damages.
The legal case stemmed from an incident that occurred in 2021. The officer, Tyrelle Dunn, claimed he was injured while attempting to rescue his wife from Songz’s hotel room. As TMZ reported, the “Mr. Steal Your Girl” artist allegedly invited a group of girls to his Las Vegas hotel room for his 37th birthday. Dunn claims that his wife was being held against her will and screamed for help.
Dunn managed to assist his wife, but while trying to intervene, he was allegedly attacked by both Songz and his security personnel. Interestingly, the singer was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in April 2022. However, Dunn, who claimed to have suffered a fractured eye socket and scarring that caused him to miss work, later sued for damages. His victory came as a result of Songz never responding, which ultimately led to a default judgment being entered against him.

As a result, Dunn will receive a substantial payday. A Las Vegas judge has awarded him millions to cover his past medical expenses, past pain and suffering, and punitive damages, according to TMZ.
