O.J. Simpson Murder Confession? • Hollywood Unlocked

Looks like there might be a new update in the high-profile murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Law enforcement is now claiming they might have a recording of O.J. Simpson confessing to the killings.

According to a newly released search warrant that TMZ got a hold of, cops in Minnesota say they’ve got a thumb drive that supposedly contains O.J.’s confession to taking the lives of Nicole and Ron. According to the report, authorities say they’ve been informed that the recording also includes O.J. implicating an unidentified third party in the mix.

In the warrant, law enforcement states they confiscated a backpack loaded with multiple thumb drives from a guy named Iroc Avelli during an investigation into a different case. Avelli happens to be O.J. Simpson’s former bodyguard. The Bloomington PD in Minnesota reported that in June 2024—just two months after O.J. passed away—they received a tip from an LAPD detective. This detective mentioned that Avelli, along with his attorney, had met with LAPD and revealed that inside a green backpack was a thumb drive containing O.J.’s confession.

To get into the contents of that thumb drive, Minnesota police had to secure a new search warrant. So, they hit up a judge in June and got the green light to proceed. Legal documents indicate that the results of what’s actually on the thumb drive are still pending.

TMZ’s sources say that the thumb drive in question has been caught up in ongoing litigation, with Avelli and his attorney suing the Minnesota cops to get all his seized belongings back. However, in July, a judge shot down their motion to return those items.

So right now, the drive is still in the hands of the Bloomington PD, but it’s unclear if they’ve actually looked into what’s on it or if they’ve shared any info with the LAPD.

As you know, O.J. was charged in 1994 for the murders of Nicole and Ron. He was acquitted in what was dubbed the “Trial of the Century,” but later he was found liable for their deaths in a civil case.
