Food critic Keith Lee is the latest guest on Shannon Sharpe’s show, Club Shay Shay. The 28-year-old discusses a range of topics, including his childhood, the positive impact of his restaurant reviews, and his success as a content creator. The internet sensation also shares some of his most memorable moments, both good and not-so-good.
Earlier this year, Lee went viral, not for another glowing food review, but for a moment with Taraji P. Henson at the BET Awards. As previously reported, during a segment of the awards ceremony, Henson, who hosted for the third consecutive year, took a moment to give “people their flowers.” However, when she approached TikToker Jordan Howlett, known as Jordan Thee Stallion, who’s often compared to Method Man, Henson extended her hand to Howlett and said,
“Mr. Keith Lee, I know what you’re thinking right now, this is about a 10.9 outta 10?” she said, looking at Howlett, who quickly pointed to Keith sitting next to his wife, Ronni Lee, on the other side. Henson then redirected her attention toward the food critic and corrected herself. “I got caught up in my own inner monologue, I’m so sorry You fine, too. So call me. Give him his flowers.”
Frustrated and disappointed, Lee shared a since-deleted post, where he drops the rose on the floor. “Our name will be known in every room it’s supposed to be, when it’s supposed to be, how it’s supposed, with no confusion. God is amazing,” he wrote over the video next to praying hands.
The actress caught wind of the post and commented, “Life really is too short for this behavior. He wasn’t in his seat 🤷🏾♀️,” the 53-year-old wrote at the time. “They give celebrity assigned seats! I rehearsed all damn day to go hit my mark and that young man wasn’t in his seat so HE MISSED HIS MOMENT!” She continued, “His ego is hurt. He will be fine. I cleaned it up at the end of the show. 🤷🏾♀️ No love lost here.”
Lee explained what he was feeling in that moment was all geared towards Taraji. He said after expressing his concerns about the lack of support and real love from BET, he felt like it went over their heads after the unintentional name mixup. Here’s what else he had to say to Shannon Sharpe:

“Taraji comes out and she say, ‘Yeah, his ego was hurt.’ I felt like she should’ve understood that I was talking directly to production because I know her situation—we were in it together.” pic.twitter.com/Miu31r6DUG
