Social media users do not play about internet cousin Blue Ivy, and neither does Sherri Shepherd!
On the latest episode of the Sherri Shepherd Show, the talk show host discusses the Mufasa premiere in Los Angeles, where the daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé graced the red carpet in a gorgeous floor-length, strapless gold dress. While fans couldn’t get over how beautiful Blue Ivy has grown, others tried to shift the attention back to her dress, with some even calling it “inappropriate.”
However, that didn’t go too far as the Beyhive quickly defended the 12-year-old who plays Princess Kiara in the new film alongside her mother, who plays Nala. Shepherd was one of many who chimed in to defend Blue and even praised the young star for her new role. She said, “A lot of people thought this was too much for a 12-year-old… I had to disagree. I think she looks like a fairy Princess.”
As for the comments about Blue “showing too much shoulder,” Shepherd added, “she’s so poise, she’s not prancing on that red carpet like ‘owww look at me.’ That’s not her. It was not like she was on the red carpet with a low cut dress,” Shepherd added while showing a picture of JLo’s infamous GRAMMYs gown. “She’s not fast.”

On a more positive note, Beyoncé has been showering her eldest daughter with so much love since taking on the project together. In behind-the-scenes clips of the film, the megastar shared just how proud she is of her baby girl.
“Seeing Blue as Kiara and hearing her voice come out of that character… give me a second cause I just can’t believe that’s my baby,” Bey says while wiping away tears. She adds, “It was really hard to focus and do my job after that. I’m just so proud of her.”
The day of the premiere, Beyoncé also shared a sweet message to Blue, “My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining.”
Mufasa: The Lion King is scheduled for release in theaters on December 20, 2024.
