A night that was supposed to be filled with love and fun for Jamie Foxx turned out to be a nightmare.

The entertainer was out last night celebrating his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow in Los Angeles with his family and friends when his festivities were interrupted by a flying object. A witness reported that an altercation broke out, and Jamie appeared visibly hurt.

While details were unclear at the time, his representative released a statement to TMZ saying, “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

An assault report was taken, and Jamie’s name is listed as a party involved in the altercation that reportedly occurred around 10 PM. No further details have been shared.

This unfortunate incident comes just months after his medical scare earlier year. He addressed his scary hospitalization this month during his comedy show.

“We still don’t know what happened to me,” he said in his Netflix special, recounting what he knows about what happened to him on April 11, 2023. “What had happened was… I don’t remember 20 days.” Ultimately the comedian revealed the doctors told his sister that he had “a brain bleed” that “led to a stroke.” His motto through it all? “If I could stay funny, I could stay alive,” he said.

“Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…”, which received a 2025 Golden Globe nomination for best performance in stand-up comedy on television, is now streaming on Netflix.
