As we previously shared, Karen Huger, 61, was involved in a car crash on March 19, 2024. Huger was reportedly aggressively driving her 2017 Maserati, leading to her striking a median and crosswalk sign at an intersection.
However, the incident didn’t stop there as she hit a parking sign off the roadway, resulting in considerable damage to her vehicle. Following the accident, she expressed how emotionally distraught she was, attributing the crash to being deeply moved by a conversation about her late mother during dinner with a friend. Despite her emotional turmoil, Huger was charged with DUI following the car accident.

TMZ had reported she was charged with driving under the influence and was required to make a mandatory court appearance to address the charge. She was also charged with driving while intoxicated along with a series of traffic violations connected to the incident — offenses such as reckless and negligent driving, driving over the speed limit, and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.
Huger was cited for a total of six traffic violations, each carrying fines between $50 and $510. Unlike the DUI and DWI charges, Huger was not required to appear in court for these traffic infractions.
On Wednesday (December 18), ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Karen Huger was found guilty on nearly all counts against her, including DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway, driving a vehicle on the highway with suspended registration, and failure to notify administration of change of address within 30 days.
However, she was acquitted of reckless driving. The reality star is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29. Speaking with PEOPLE, Karen Huger’s attorney A. Scott Bolden, told them, “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case. We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”
