KC Amos Speaks Out • Hollywood Unlocked

K.C. Amos is addressing his sister’s claims about possible wrongdoing related to John Amos’ death in August.

As we previously reported, Shannon Amos’ attorney, James H. Davis III, revealed that she brought in legal help to look into her father’s death, claiming her brother, K.C., is guilty of elder abuse. In a press release, Davis announced that Shannon is looking for details about John’s admission to Centinela Hospital, his condition at that time, and information from the LAPD and Adult Protective Services regarding their investigations tied to her previous complaints. Shannon also claims that “someone other than Mr. Amos’ son, who was his caretaker at the time, dropped him off at the hospital and falsely represented herself as Mr. Amos’ ‘daughter.’”

According to her attorneys, Shannon has “made three formal requests for her father’s medical records from Centinela Hospital Medical Center” but has not received a response.

“The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr. Amos’ care and the events that led to his passing,” Davis said in his statement. “We are committed to pursuing all available avenues to ensure that these questions are answered.”

K.C. is pushing back against his sister’s claims, telling PEOPLE exclusively that his father lived a fulfilling and happy life right up until his passing.

“My dad wanted to go to Centinela because he trusted them and they were the nearest hospital,” K.C. explained. “There was a discussion of contacting other family members and Pops said not to contact anyone and I honored his request.”

“Let me be clear and transparent. There has been no physical, financial, emotional, psychological elder abuse or neglect committed against my father by me, Gene Brummett or Belinda Foster,” he continued. “This has been documented by an independent investigation by Homeland Security Services, Inc, Adult Protective Services, and other law enforcement agencies. The reality is that he passed of natural causes at the age of 84 years old. Stop making it more than what it is.”

K.C.’s defense investigator, Kevin Faler, who also serves as Vice President of Operations at Homeland Security Services, Inc., echoed K.C.’s feelings in a statement to PEOPLE. He mentioned that he’s been working on K.C.’s behalf for two years, conducting “a thorough investigation into allegations of both criminal and civil wrongdoing.”

“This investigation encompasses a detailed examination of financial discrepancies, including the trail of John Amos’ missing money and stolen belongings valued in the millions of dollars in Colorado, as well as connected incidents in Memphis, New Jersey, and Los Angeles,” Faler says, adding, “There is no merit to the criminal charges levied against KC Amos in the State of New Jersey as any and all charges have been dismissed.”

“The current allegations regarding foul play and elder abuse are frivolous,” he maintains.
