Actress Tia Mowry says she is adjusting to the holidays with “mixed emotions” since becoming a single mom of two, further noting that co-parenting after her divorce from actor husband Cory Hardrict has been a “challenging and lonely journey.”
The former spouses, who share two children, met and began dating in 2000, one year after filming wrapped for Mowry’s hit TV series ‘Sister, Sister.’ Tia Mowry, 46, and Cory Hardrict, 45, got married in 2008 and welcomed two children: Cree Hardrict, their 13-year-old son, and Cairo Hardrict, their 6-year-old daughter. In 2013, the couple renewed their vows, and in April 2022, the couple celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.
However, just six months later, in October 2022, Tia Mowry announced her split from Cory Hardrict, claiming they “decided to go their separate ways,” but would “maintain a friendship as they co-parent their beautiful children.” Mowry filed for divorce on October 4, 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and requesting joint physical and legal custody of their two children. She also asked that neither party get spousal support, as they had a prenuptial agreement (prenup) in place. In April 2023, the divorce was finalized, 15 years after the former couple first tied the knot.
On Monday (December 23), Tia Mowry took to her Instagram with a series of photos of herself and two children sitting in front of their Christmas tree in matching red plaid pajamas and other photos of Mowry dolled up in a red dress, and her children wearing red party outfits to complement.
In her caption to the post, she began, “Happy Holidays from my family to yours! 🎄✨ Co-parenting during the holidays is a journey—one that’s filled with a mix of emotions. It’s different, and yes, it can feel challenging and even lonely at times, especially when you’re adjusting to a new family dynamic. But over time, I’ve found the beauty in it. It’s an opportunity for my kids to build meaningful relationships with both parents, and for me, it creates space for self-discovery, healing, and rejuvenation.”
Mowry added, “I’ll admit, as a single mom, I sometimes feel the weight because our family doesn’t look like others. But you know what? That’s okay. Different doesn’t mean less than. The most important thing is keeping the traditions alive for my children—because no matter how it looks, we are still family. 💛”
She continued, “To anyone navigating co-parenting or a new chapter this holiday season, know that you’re not alone. There’s joy to be found, even in the transitions. Let’s keep creating those special moments for our kids, no matter what. ❤️.”
On Christmas day (December 25), Tia Mowry again took to Instagram with photos of herself, two children, and her ex-husband Cory Hardrict. On the first slide of three, Mowry is seen holding the camera for a selfie, with her son, daughter, and ex surrounding her and smiling.
In the second and third slides, she shares a photo of her daughter and son playing around the house for Christmas. She captioned the post, “Family is where life begins, and love never ends.” Mowry also shared additional photos to her Instagram Story showing herself with her children and ex for Christmas.
