‘U Guessed It’ Rapper OG Marco Reportedly Passes Away At 32 After After Suffering Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

OG Maco, the rapper best known for his 2014 hit “U Guessed It,” has sadly passed away.

According to an exclusive report by TMZ, the entertainer had been hospitalized since December 12 after suffering a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head. Around that time, there were false reports of Maco’s death on social media, but he was still alive following the incident at his Los Angeles home. He was rushed to the hospital after police responded to a neighbor’s 911 call reporting a gunshot heard nearby. It was noted that a firearm was later recovered close to Maco. His manager, Poppa Percccc, even told TMZ at the time that the rapper was still alive but “needs urgent prayers from all his friends, fans, supporters, and associates.”

Unfortunately doctors had been struggling to obtain a proper brain scan in attempts to drain the toxins from Maco’s system since he was admitted earlier in the month. However, while in a coma, his health took a turn for the worse, and he went into critical condition. Tragically, he was unable to be revived and passed away last night. TMZ reports that he was surrounded by family in a Los Angeles hospital.

More on OG Maco:

Maco, whose real name is Benedict Ihesiba Jr., rose to fame in the mid-2010s with his catchy hit “U Guessed It.” The song climbed the Billboard Hot 100 and was even remixed by 2 Chainz.

The Georgia native was also part of the first wave of artists signed to Quality Control Music and was named in XXL‘s 2015 Freshman class alongside Fetty Wap and DeJ Loaf.

Amid the heartbreaking news, fans online are sending prayers to his family and close friends during this difficult time. “RIP OG MACO… THANK YOU FOR OF THE BEST SONGS FRESHMAN YEAR OF COLLEGE,” one fan said. Another added, “Rip to my dawg JAY. Suicide is not the answer ever! Mental illness is real in all men. Many Black men suffer from this mind disease. Nobody to vent to, nobody to listen to their pain and cries for help. They suffer in silence, using drugs and drinking it away until they can no longer take the pain. It’s a real issue. Check on your people🙏🏾” A third added, “RIP OG Maco and all the other rap angels we lost this year, man.”

OG Maco was 32 years old.
