Tyrese was seen getting incredibly emotional as he reunited with his Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel at the premiere of his new movie 1992.
While posing in front of the film’s poster at the red carpet event in Los Angeles on Tuesday (August 27), the singer and actor was surprised by Diesel and began crying as they hugged in front of the cameras.
Tyrese was also joined by another of his Fast & Furious co-stars in Michelle Rodriguez, as well as Snoop Dogg who is an executive producer on 1992.
The 45-year-old paid tribute to those who supported him at the premiere on his Instagram.
He said: “I won’t be named dropping today some people don’t even need the name dropped…. so I’m gonna go about this very very differently and tell you last night I was an emotional wreck because one thing about me and this is not pride or ego my relationships and my friendships with some of the most powerful and significant people out.
“There are not abused don’t obligate them to anything. There is no manipulation or trying to force anyone to show up for me for anything. I’ve always been very very, very, very independent and self-sufficient , I’ll fall flat on my face. I’ll embarrass myself.
“I don’t need help and I don’t obligate anyone to show up for my dreams so you could imagine everyone’s busy everyone’s kids and family and traveling and respectfully most of the most significant people I know are always gone always traveling always got a lot going on, so as much as we’d like to see each other connect it doesn’t happen as often as we want to these Giants to show up for my little movie a.k.a. our little movie in @1992movie.”
Tyrese added: “I don’t think you guys will ever understand how FULL my heart was and how truly truly GRATEFUL I am [ and was ] that they showed for my momma’s baby boy….. I am humbled and grateful beyond words…….”
Despite saying he wasn’t going to drop names, Tyrese went on to thank Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Snoop Dogg by name: “Thank you, Vin Michelle, our executive producer, the big Homie, the real superhero, the biggest RAPPER IN THE WORLD King @snoopdogg.”
The teary moment come shortly after the Baby Boy star’s equally emotional interview on The Breakfast Club where he reflected on the deaths of his mother, his two sisters, film director John Singleton and his Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker.
“I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get,” Tyrese admitted while tearing up, before proudly declaring: “Black men cry.”
He added: “There is no square footage I could ever live in, there is no rims, no jewelry and no car, there is no net worth, there is no press release, there is no co-star, there is no collaboration in the world that could ever replace my momma.”
“That could ever fill the void of what it’s like to wake up and get married and want to be in something for the rest of your life, and it goes away,” continued Tyrese, who has been married twice.
