On Wednesday (January 1), a video was published to an account on TikTok, claiming to be a “Spam Page” for Zu. The video was taken by Zu, who showed himself sitting in a car with August Alsina next to him.

Aside from the sultry faces that Zu was making followed by him leaning towards Alsina to put the camera in his face, the fans’ were stuck on something else. Since August Alsina introduced the world to Zu and Zu to us in the November 2022 finale of VH1’s ‘The Surreal Life,’ for years, fans have continued to speculate that the sexy duo are more than just friends, or “brothers.” Continuing to fuel the rumors, the video posted on this apparent “Spam Page” allegedly belonging to Zu has gone viral and now, August Alsina is responding to the fans commenting on it.

When one fan on X claimed that they like Zu, but also aren’t too keen on him “posting [Alsina] knowing everybody gon’ be invested,” Alsina replied, “Aht! Don’t do detttt.. Erybody else [already] be trollin’… so let that man troll in peace! For 2025, what everyone needs to know is, if somebody is gonna support you, they’re gonna support you. If they’re not, they’re not. No ideation or perceived condition is going to either alter somebody’s investment or lack thereof. In other words, people who enjoy low-hanging fruit, just enjoy low-hanging fruit, and for that, there’s trolling.”

He continued to share additional tweets about some hopes he has for others as we enter the New Year. He said, “Also, in 2025, I truly hope that WE, people as a collective, can & will stop trying to be or become who we think we should in the eyes or minds of others’ approval. All for the sake of an outsider(s’) seeming support, that will inevitably & undoubtedly be fleeting, and fickle, due to the fact that it’s not based in the foundation of deeply-rooted truth and authenticity. This is all for my TED talk today. Learn love!! & then learn life!”

A fan then tweeted August Alsina about the Zu controversy and said, “Wait until they find out you’re an even bigger troll lol.” Alsina responded, “My whole life is based in taking the most seemingly serious sht & turning it into a dramedy. It’s just life. No need to take this sht personal fam.”

Another fan then directly asked him how he felt about Zu “letting the world know he was ready to ‘climb you’ when y’all got back home.” Alsina said, “To be clear, Zu comes to me before posting anything involving me. Anyhow, he’s his own man. Let him cook!” Alsina continued to reply to other fans, with some shameless plugs to his Lé Joce fragrance, and seemingly joined Zu in trolling everyone.
