In a new interview, Dipset rapper Jim Jones talks about his groupmate Cam’ron and his “so-called best friend” Mase (or MA$E), claiming he used to “watch Mase sh*t on Cam and everybody around him” back in the day.
While recently appearing on Justin LaBoy‘s ‘#Respectfully‘ show, Jim Jones revealed that his beef with Mase came from how the former Bad Boy Records artist used to “sh*t on” his Diplomats groupmate Cam’ron during their hay day. On the show, Capo opened up about his feelings towards Mase and how before he blew up with Diddy and Killa Cam took off with The Diplomats, the two were actually best friends growing up in Harlem, New York.
Jim Jones, who was also very close with Cam’ron back in the day, said he used to hang out with Mase and Cam and saw how their entire friendship evolved, including the good moments and the not-so-nice moments. Jim Jones notably recalled one point during Mase and Cam’ron’s friendship turning sour when the former signed a deal with Bad Boy Records and allegedly began treating the people around him, including Cam, differently.
Eventually, Mase and Cam turned from friends to foes and started beefing once Mase left Harlem for greater horizons in the music industry, the two even exchanged diss tracks at one point in 2017.

Speaking on ‘so-called best friends” Mase and Cam’ron, Jim Jones told Justin LaBoy, “I watched Mase sh*t on Cam and everybody around him, like all the time. I was there the whole time. I was Cam’s man, you heard? Cam and Mase were so-called best friends, grew up together… I was there for everything. That’s one thing that people can’t never say is that I wasn’t there for every single thing.”
Jones explained that his beef with Mase ultimately stemmed from how the “Feel So Good” rapper started treating Cam after he caught his big break. Jim Jones said Cam’ron loved Mase back in the day and would do anything to make sure he was straight and taken care of, including helping him chase his rap dreams. However, like in most cases with fame and fortune, money got in the way of their friendship and Jones said Mase switched up.
Despite their apparent issues in the past, Mase and Cam’ron have since put things behind them and reunited to make money together through their sports and entertainment talk show, ‘It Is What It Is.’ Discussing their reunion, Jim Jones said he was not surprised when Mase and Cam’ron became close friends again.

He said, “Cam was jumping out the window for him, which a friend should, and sh*t like that. Like being overprotective and making sure nothing happens. He was trying his best to make sure that Mase stayed as safe as possible. But Mase had got that money and lost his muthaf***ing mind.”
He added, “I seen crazier sh*t happen. I know brothers that done shot brothers and sh*t like that. So, for friends to get back after whatever they went through, it’s not surprising to me and sh*t like that. But, I see they don’t talk about the days of being sh*t on, you heard? They don’t talk about the things that separated them and sh*t like that. So, it’s fine. Kudos to them, man. They got a dope show. Who am I to hate on what they got going on, man? I hope they make a trillion dollars.”
After Jim Jones’ comments went viral, Cam’ron and Mase seemingly responded on their ‘It Is What It Is‘ talk show page on Instagram. The two shared a photo of themselves standing on a stoop in New York back in the day and captioned the post, “NO NEED TO DWELL ON THE PAST, WE HERE NOW, WE GONE “PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT” … #MURDA #KILLA “HARLEM” #ITISWHATITISTALK #NOBODYSAFE #WESAYWHATTHEF**KWEWANT.”

They continued to seemingly fire back with different show clips of them laughing about dissing each other in the past and laughing about it later, and another clip of them confirming they’re for sure making tons of money together on their talk show.
One caption read, “THERE IS NO BETTER FEELING WHEN YOU CAN LAUGH ABOUT DISSING EACH OTHER IN THE PAST 😂 THIS WHAT HAPPINESS & GETTING A LOT OF MONEY TOGETHER LOOK LIKE 😎💰 “HARLEM” #ITISWHATITISTALK #NOBODYSAFE #WESAYWHATTHEF**KWEWANT.”
