Nene Leakes is sharing her reaction to Kenya Moore’s recent comments about her filter usage, and of course, the reality TV queen did not hold back.
While appearing on The Breakfast Club, Leakes was asked if it’s true she ran into her former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmate at the airport after the shady comments were made. Leakes confirmed that she did and explained why she wasn’t too phased by Moore’s remarks.
To keep you up to speed, during a recent Amazon livestream, Moore and Kandi Burruss were in the middle of praising NeNe Leakes when Moore added a little jokey joke. She said at the time, “I think NeNe looks great. I just need her to back off the filters and stuff.” Kandi fired back, “All y’all been doing the filters, honey,” to which Moore replied, “Nah…not like that. This is natural, honey. I wake up looking like this.” Well, the fabulous NeNe Leakes is throwing some shimmery shade right back.
Not only did Leakes make it clear that nearly everyone uses filters—which is perfectly fine—but she noted that it only becomes a problem when someone looks absolutely different in person. “But that’s not what’s happening over here,” Leakes stated. “I use a filter and I am the filter. These girls need to use filters too!”

“Me & My Homegirl” Podcast co-star Sierra Glam Shop chimed in to ask what Moore looked like while at the airport. Leakes gave her honest response: “Well, she wasn’t looking amazing. She looked okay; she wasn’t looking her best. She could’ve used a hairdo and a filter.”
Despite all the banter fans have seen in the past on the show, Leakes also made it clear that she doesn’t have any major problems with them.
