Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman allegedly sent an image with the message, “My husband’s idea of Christmas humor.” According to CWBChicago, the image originated from a TikTok video and was accidentally sent to another judge instead of the intended recipient. On Friday, Chief Judge Timothy Evans reassigned Glennon-Goodman following the incident, as her role in the Cook County Criminal Courthouse involved making decisions on detention petitions and setting conditions for the release of individuals newly accused of crimes, a responsibility she had held since April 2024.
Before becoming elected as a judge, Glennon-Goodman served as an assistant public defender for 25 years, which included handling high-profile murder cases. Since the leak of the text message, there has been backlash due to the sharing of racially insensitive content.

“She needs to be fired, not reassigned. Justice is supposed to be Blind. Obviously she equates even black kids with crime,” one user wrote on X. Another said, “Showing this sort of bias behavior should bar you from being able to be a judge.”
A statement has yet to be released from Cook County Court or the judge.
