Heartbreaking news this morning: Rapper Project Pat’s son has tragically died at the age of 21.
Reports indicate that Patrick Earl Houston Jr. was shot at a Tennessee park. Memphis police have shared that the shooting occurred in the Imogene Heights neighborhood just after 1 PM last Friday. When first responders arrived at the scene, Patrick was reportedly found dead from an apparent gunshot wound, TMZ reports. At this time, no further details have been shared.
Project Pat, 51, is also the older brother of Oscar winner Juicy J and rapped on the Three 6 Mafia hit “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” back in 2000. Fans have been sending him and his family prayers as well as their deepest condolences in his comment section amid the heartbreaking news.

This sad news comes just two years after rapper and podcaster Gillie Da King also lost his son, YNG Cheese, due to gun violence.
There are a handful of rappers who have dedicated their lives to pushing to end gun violence. In addition to Wallo and Gillie Da King, Meek Mill has advocated in his hometown of Philadelphia, as well as rapper Quavo, who lost his nephew Takeoff to a senseless act.
