Drake's Dad Reacts to Kendrick Lamar Taking Home 5 Grammys • Hollywood Unlocked

Drake’s dad doesn’t care about Kendrick Lamar’s accomplishments from last night’s Grammy awards.

At the awards show on Sunday, February 2, Lamar, 37, snagged both Song of the Year and Record of the Year for his track “Not Like Us,” which took several shots at Drake, 38. When Drizzy’s dad, Dennis Graham was asked about Lamar’s win, he told TikTok user Joy of Everything, “I don’t care enough about that s—.” Graham, 70, continued: “That ain’t got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don’t do that bulls—.”

As we previously reported, Kendrick Lamar walked away as the big winner at the 2025 Grammy Awards with his track “Not Like Us,” which targeted Drake. He scored a total of five wins: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.

The beef between Drake and Lamar has been brewing for a minute. It all kicked off when they were cool, but things changed when Lamar threw shade at Drake in his verse on Big Sean’s 2013 track “Control.”

“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” Drake told Billboard at the time. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”

The back-and-forth has been going strong for over ten years now. While they usually keep their beef in the music, Drake has dropped a few rare remarks about how he feels about his rivalry with Lamar.

“I have no ill feelings toward that guy,” he told Vibe in December 2013. “It’s just like, it’s there for me if I wanna fall for it. I’m just too smart for that. … We haven’t seen each other [since the BET cypher], but I’m sure we’ll see each other and it’ll be cool. And if it’s not, then I guess that’s how our story unfolds.”

Drake later hit back with multiple legal complaints, including one in November 2024, claiming that Lamar’s label, Universal Music Group (which happens to be his own as well), conspired to “artificially inflate” the buzz around “Not Like Us.”

UMG vehemently denied Drake’s claims in a statement, telling Billboard: “The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue. We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”

Last month, Drake dropped a federal lawsuit against UMG, accusing them of defamation. He claimed the label pushed a “false and malicious narrative” when they promoted Lamar’s track. UMG fired back in a statement to Us Weekly, calling Drake’s claims “untrue” and “illogical.”

The statement continued: “We have not and do not engage in defamation — against any individual. At the same time, we will vigorously defend this litigation to protect our people and our reputation, as well as any artist who might directly or indirectly become a frivolous litigation target for having done nothing more than write a song.”
