Boosie Badazz has requested a pardon from the next president, regardless of who wins the election in November — Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump.
The Louisiana rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday (August 31) and explained his dire situation.
He wrote: “MY CASE GOT DISMISSED FOR A RULING THAT WAS MADE N THE 9th CIRCUIT COURT .2 WEEKS LATER THE RULING GETS VACATED.SMH SOON AS I CELEBRATE THE LAW IS VACATED GTFOH I GOT SOME POWERFUL PEOPLE WHO HATE ME WITH EVERY BONE N THEY BODY. It was back in July that Boosie accused a prosecutor of being racist after being re-indicted in a San Diego gun case — which is the case he’s hoping to be pardoned from.
The case against Boosie had been dismissed but less than two weeks later, he again faced the same charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon in interstate commerce.
The Baton Rouge native was also hit with an additional charge of knowingly possessing a firearm while dealing with abuse of a controlled substance.
The indictment showed that prosecutors are doubling down on the allegations against Boosie and seek to seize “all firearms and ammunition involved in the commission of the offenses.”
The 41-year-old rapper also faces the potential of up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Despite Boosie’s willingness to work with “whoever wins,” he has had issues with Donald Trump in the past.
Back in 2022, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper took Donald Trump to task over the former president’s stance on drug charges.
During a speech announcing his 2024 presidential bid, Donald Trump vowed to “wage war upon the cartels and stop the fentanyl and deadly drugs from killing 200,000 Americans per year.”
Trump went on to add: “We are going to be asking everyone who sells drugs, gets caught selling drugs, to receive the death penalty for their heinous acts.”
Boosie didn’t take too kindly to Trump’s pre-campaign promise. “Death penalty for drug dealers WTF!!,” he tweeted. “@potus45 is you go have death penalty for white cops who kill innocent black men ?”
