Porsha Williams Denies Tipping Off ICE to Detain Estranged Husband Simon Guobadia: “It Doesn’t Benefit Me at All”

Porsha Williams is clearing the air! The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum made a guest appearance on The Breakfast Club this Wednesday morning and wasted no time addressing the swirling rumors about her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia.

As previously reported, Simon, a Nigerian businessman, was detained by ICE last month while in Georgia. His status was listed as “in ICE custody,” meaning he was being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, Simon, 60, entered the United States from Nigeria in 1982 and was declared deportable in 1985 after allegedly overstaying his visa.

With all the drama surrounding his detainment, the internet was quick to place the blame on Porsha. Many fans speculated that the reality star had a hand in tipping off authorities as a way to get back at Simon amid their nasty divorce. But Porsha is setting the record straight—she had nothing to do with it!

Porsha Williams Shuts Down the Rumors: “It Doesn’t Benefit Me at All”

When pressed on the topic during her Breakfast Club interview, Porsha wasted no time shutting down the speculation.

“Did you call ICE on Simon?” the hosts asked.

Porsha, without hesitation, responded,

“No, no—it doesn’t benefit me at all.”

She doubled down, making it clear that she has zero reason to sabotage Simon like that.

“Mentally and financially, it doesn’t benefit me,” she added.

Despite their ongoing divorce, Porsha made it clear that she doesn’t hate Simon—just some of his ways.

“Just because you’re going through a divorce doesn’t mean you hate someone,” she explained. “I hate actions, I hate lies, I hate a lot of characteristics, but I love the person. I would never wish harm on anybody.”

Still, that didn’t stop her from throwing in a little shade.

She said Simon “is a slithering snake,” she continued. “He’s going to find his way out of it. I’m sure he’ll be fine.”

A Look Back at Porsha and Simon’s Messy Divorce

Porsha and Simon’s relationship has been a rollercoaster from the start, and their split has been no different.

In early 2024, Porsha shocked fans when she announced that she was divorcing Simon after just over a year of marriage. The news sent shockwaves through the reality TV world, especially since the couple had previously gushed about their love. But things quickly spiraled into pure chaos.

Since their breakup, the two have taken their issues online, exchanging shady posts, accusations, and legal threats. Porsha, however, has tried to keep things classy—at least publicly. When news broke about Simon’s detainment, she released a statement making it clear that she had nothing to do with it.

“It’s disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome,” she said at the time. “At this moment, my priority is moving forward with my family.”

It’s no secret that the former couple is far from amicable, but one thing’s for sure—Porsha doesn’t want Simon at rock bottom.

What’s Next for Porsha and Simon?

With Simon still dealing with his immigration battle and Porsha focused on her next chapter, their story is far from over.

As fans continue to speculate about their split, one thing is clear: Porsha isn’t here for the drama—at least not this kind. Whether Simon finds his way out of his current situation or faces deportation, Porsha is keeping her eyes forward and her name out of the mess.
