Wendy Williams Hospitalized for Cognitive Evaluation • Hollywood Unlocked

Media icon and former talk show queen Wendy Williams has been hospitalized for a cognitive evaluation.

According to TMZ, Wendy was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Monday to undergo an independent medical exam to determine if she’s mentally fit to shut down the controversial guardianship she’s been under.

This latest development adds fuel to the ongoing legal fire between Wendy and her conservator, Sabrina Morrissey. The cognitive tests were allegedly ordered by Ginalisa Monterroso, a caregiver who’s not even affiliated with the guardian.

According to multiple reports the NYPD pulled up to Wendy’s living facility on Monday morning to investigate claims that she was being “held prisoner,” just like she said in her documentary Saving Wendy. That visit sparked not just police involvement, but also a full-on probe from Adult Protective Services.

What Wendy Williams Says About Her Situation

In her candid documentary Saving Wendy, sis didn’t hold back. She revealed that she only went outside twice in the entire month before her interview — and both times were just for dental appointments. That’s not a life, that’s a lockdown.

Meanwhile, Morrissey — who legally oversees her affairs — claimed the two have frequent communication. But Wendy? She shut that narrative down quick, saying that’s just not true. According to Wendy, their encounters are few and far between, and the real decisions — like where she lives — are made by the medical folks, not Morrissey.

External Forces Turning Up the Heat

The fact that Adult Protective Services and the NYPD are now involved is telling. It shows there are real concerns behind closed doors. People close to Wendy clearly aren’t buying the “everything’s fine” story.

Let’s be real — this ain’t just about paperwork. It’s about power, autonomy, and protecting a Black woman who’s spent her life in the spotlight. Wendy’s story is starting to look like the next big conservatorship case, and fans are rallying behind her.

Wendy Plans to Speak Out on ‘The View’

Don’t think Wendy’s staying silent either. Word on the street is she’s calling into The View this Friday to speak on her legal status. You already know it’s gonna be a moment.

Whatever she reveals could shift the entire conversation around guardianship laws — especially for Black entertainers who’ve been navigating fame, health challenges, and public scrutiny.
