Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot President Donald Trump on Facebook

The Internet Ain’t Safe for Reckless Talk: Florida Man Faces Charges

A whole lot of folks have been outspoken when it comes to their issues with President Donald Trump, especially with all the controversial executive orders and public antics. But one man took that frustration and crossed way over the line.

A 73-year-old Florida man, Glenn DeCicco, was arrested after posting threats on Facebook that the feds are not taking lightly. His posts weren’t just your typical “I can’t stand Trump” rant either. They were explicit, direct, and straight-up alarming. One of his posts simply said, “Ass-ass-inate!” Another one read, “Winning strategy: buy QQQ today, sell SQQQ today; sh**t Trump tomorrow.”

That wasn’t a joke to the federal authorities.

Authorities got a tip from someone who saw the alarming posts and wasn’t about to let that slide. When law enforcement rolled up to DeCicco’s home, they questioned him about the posts. His defense? He allegedly told the cops it was “a thought that I had.”

But that “thought” got him booked, fingerprinted, and charged for making written threats to kill or cause bodily harm.

The Feds Ain’t Playing Games After 2024 Trump Assassination Attempt

After the wild 2024 assassination attempt on Trump during his campaign rally, authorities are on high alert. The last thing they want is another situation like what happened with Thomas Matthew Crooks.

If you missed it, Crooks was the man who allegedly fired shots at Trump last year, grazing his ear but missing a fatal hit. The situation could have turned deadly, but Secret Service agents acted quick and fatally shot Crooks on the scene.

With all that in recent memory, it’s no surprise that law enforcement is not playing about threats—real, implied, or even “just a thought.” DeCicco’s case comes at a time when the government is cracking down hard on any chatter that could lead to another violent incident.

And to make it clear how serious things are, a judge denied DeCicco any bond. That man is staying put, and the judge specifically ordered him to stay away from Donald Trump entirely.

Online Threats Come With Real Consequences

There was a time when folks could say reckless things online and it’d just be ignored. That time is gone. In this digital age, where everything you post can be screenshotted, shared, and traced, people are finally learning that words on the internet can carry the same weight as words in person.

DeCicco’s situation is just one example of how what you type can land you in handcuffs—especially when it involves threatening the former president of the United States.

Whether you agree with Trump or not, threatening anyone especially a high-profile political figure—is a one-way ticket to serious legal trouble. The justice system is making it crystal clear that they’re not letting any threats slide, especially after the near-fatal 2024 incident.

Y’all better think before you post.
