A chilling video of 17-year-old Tracy Haynes, the alleged shooter at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas, has hit social media and sparked deep conversation online.
The clip, posted by @beezytvmedia on Instagram, appears to show Haynes speaking on camera shortly before police took him into custody on April 15. Haynes is facing aggravated assault and mass shooting charges. His bond has been set at $600,000, and he’s currently being held behind bars.

In the emotional footage, Haynes appears to acknowledge his actions and explains why he felt the need to act. His words reveal a deeper pain he’s been carrying, and his mindset moments before the incident are unsettling.
“Nga told me he was gonna kill me, all these ngas told me they was gonna kill me, look what happened.”
He then turns his attention to his family and loved ones, saying:
“I want everybody to know I love them.”
His voice shakes as he reflects on the environment he’s been trapped in. Haynes insists he didn’t want to use violence, but felt there was no way out. His comments suggest he felt cornered and was trying to protect himself.
“I had to do it… I’d be damned if one of us get buried again. I’m tired of us getting buried and nobody doing s**t about it.”
As the video continues, the teen speaks on loss, revealing both his mother and grandmother have passed. He says he’d rather be behind bars than six feet deep.
“I’d rather y’all see me in jail than dead in the ground… I love y’all!”
What We Know About the Shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School
According to Dallas ISD and police reports, three students were shot on campus. Miraculously, all three survived. A fourth student didn’t suffer a gunshot wound but sustained what authorities called a “musculoskeletal injury to the lower body,” possibly from trying to escape during the chaos.
Officials say the shooting happened during regular school hours and immediately put the campus on lockdown. Students were eventually evacuated, and parents were notified. The school district has not yet confirmed if Haynes was enrolled at the time or had prior disciplinary records.
Dallas PD was able to track Haynes down quickly, thanks to tips from the community and surveillance footage. His arrest came within hours of the shooting.
