A travel confession is going viral after a British tourist said he hooked up with a member of the Taliban during his visit to Afghanistan.
According to Daily Mail, Toyosi Osideinde, 30, shared that he stayed in the country for 11 days after arriving via Islamabad, Pakistan, and driving to Peshawar, eventually crossing the border into Afghanistan.
Osideinde, who has reportedly visited 69 countries so far, claimed that although Afghanistan is known for its restrictions, he saw women working in markets and even showing their faces.

Man Claims He Hooked Up With Taliban Guard in Afghanistan — “We Watched Gossip Girl”
The most talked-about detail? Osideinde said he began hooking up with a man who worked as a Taliban security guard at the hotel he stayed in.
“I ordered some takeaway and he brought it up to my room,” he explained. “He kept coming back every five minutes to check on me… I asked if he wanted to come in and watch a movie.”
That movie turned out to be Gossip Girl. Despite the language barrier — Osideinde spoke English, and the man spoke Farsi — they managed to bond in silence over shared TV time. He added that the man “loved showing him his guns” and made him feel safe.
Osideinde admitted he usually used Grindr to meet men during his travels, but the app was unavailable in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, which made navigating hookups more complex.
“I was trying to be discreet — you have to be careful. I felt safer with my security guard.”
British Tourist’s Alleged Taliban Hookup Sparks Debate Over Travel Safety and Privilege
Social media has lit up with mixed reactions to the story. While some are fascinated by Osideinde’s boldness, others are calling out what they see as reckless behavior in a country controlled by a group known for anti-LGBTQ+ ideology.
It’s important to note that the Taliban is a designated terrorist organization by the United States and several other countries. LGBTQ+ individuals face extreme risk in areas under Taliban control.
