Jalen Hurts Bows Out Of White House Visit, Citing “Scheduling Conflicts”

Jalen Hurts won’t be making his way to the White House today. The star quarterback is among several Eagles players skipping the championship celebration with President Trump on Monday.

Jalen Hurts Reportedly Ties the Knot with Longtime Partner Bry Burrows

The White House confirmed to NBC News that Hurts will not attend the event, citing “scheduling conflicts” as the official reason. Right now, it’s still a mystery how many of his teammates will also pass up the ceremony.

Last week, Hurts sparked some side-eye at the Time 100 Gala when he got caught up on the question about visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When asked if he planned on going, Hurts gave a hesitant “umm” before the interviewer pivoted to a new topic.

Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley Is All In On The Celebration

While Hurts is bowing out, fellow Eagles star Saquon Barkley is stepping right into the spotlight. Barkley was spotted chilling with Trump at the president’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J., just one day before the ceremony.

After catching heat from fans for hanging with the controversial former president, Barkley didn’t hesitate to clap back. He posted on X (formerly Twitter) Monday morning:

“lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,”

“Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have an amazing day.”

Barkley’s energy makes it clear — for him, it’s about respecting the seat, not getting tangled in the politics. And he made sure folks knew it.

Hurts’ Political Moves? Or Just Bad Timing?

As for Jalen Hurts, it’s still unclear if skipping the White House visit is about politics, timing, or just keeping his usual low-key vibe intact. Hurts isn’t one to stir the pot — he’s known for staying drama-free and moving real silent outside of football.

Hurts, who was part of a golf outing with Barack Obama last October alongside Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, has shown love for the political space before. But even back then, he kept it about the experience, not the headlines.
