Socialites, Send Up Those Prayers—Kirk Medas Is Fighting for His Life

Socialites, join us in sending prayers to Floribama Shore’s Kirk Medas as he is currently hospitalized, battling a severe illness.

According to a GoFundMe set up by his family, the 33-year-old MTV reality star “is in the ICU fighting necrotizing pancreatitis.”

“He is sedated and this could take some time to heal,” the family said on the page while sharing a picture of him attached to a ventilator. “We are praying that he has a full recovery but this process could take some time. The donation will help for medical bills and rehab. He has no medical insurance so your donations will be greatly appreciated,” the May 1 post continued. “Please continue to uplift Kirk in your prayers. Thank you again from the Medas Family.”

She continued:

“Please pray for Kirk. Pray for his mother. Pray for his friends. And pray for his castmates—we’re all hurting watching our brother fight this battle. Thank you for your love and support.”

What Is Necrotizing Pancreatitis?

Necrotizing pancreatitis is a severe and life-threatening condition where parts of the pancreas start dying due to inflammation and lack of blood flow. It’s one of the most dangerous forms of pancreatitis, and it often requires ICU-level treatment including sedation, ventilators, and sometimes surgery to remove dead tissue.

Patients can be sedated for weeks, relying on machines just to breathe and survive. The road to healing is long and usually involves extensive rehab, antibiotics, and hospital stays.
