Tory Lanez’ Team Drops Bombshell: “Kelsey Pulled the Trigger, Not Tory”
On Wednesday, Tory Lanez’s legal team came forward with bold new claims that could shake the entire case. Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year sentence for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the Hollywood Hills. But now, his team says they got fresh evidence—and it points the finger at someone else.
According to them, it wasn’t Lanez who pulled the trigger. Instead, they allege it was Megan’s former best friend, Kelsey Harris, who fired the weapon that night.

Gianno Caldwell, who’s been pushing hard to free the Grammy-nominated rapper, said straight up:
“Mr. Peterson was never given a fair trial, free from bias, political interference and media-driven pressure.”
The press conference was hosted by United the People, a nonprofit described as a coalition of lawyers and activists “fighting for social justice and helping the community however they can.”
Lanez Was Just Stabbed in Prison—Now His Team Wants Him Free
This new legal push comes just days after Lanez was attacked inside a California prison. A convicted killer allegedly stabbed him multiple times, leaving wounds on his back, torso, head, and face. Lanez shared a statement with his 11.4 million Instagram followers, updating them on the brutal incident and expressing thanks for surviving.
Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People, opened the briefing saying: “We think it’s time. Enough is enough. It’s time to bring the brother home.”
Attorney Walter Roberts laid out a full breakdown of what he says really went down that night. And according to him, it wasn’t Tory that fired.
“[Harris] fired at [Megan] three times. Mr. Peterson grabbed her arm and knocked it down, and the gun fired two more times. In essence, Mr. Peterson never shot anybody. Never even touched the. He never fired the gun. This statement aligns with the statement of the only non-party witness to the case, Mr. Sean Kelly, who at trial testified he saw two women fighting,” Roberts said.
And that’s not all. Roberts dropped another bomb:
“There were three potential suspects in the car that night. And yet the only DNA sample was taken of Mr. Peterson, even though unknown DNA was found on the gun.”
