Halle Bailey Awarded Temporary Sole Custody Amid Shocking Abuse Allegations

Halle Bailey has officially been granted temporary sole legal and physical custody of her son, Halo, following serious allegations of domestic abuse against her ex, DDG.

The court ruling comes as the “Little Mermaid” star made a powerful move to protect her 16-month-old child from potential harm. A judge approved her request without notifying DDG — real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. — after Halle expressed concerns that giving him prior notice could have put her and their child at risk.

In the court documents first reported by Page Six, Halle shared that she feared the “violence would reoccur” and that DDG might try to “take the children out of the area” before any legal order could be enforced.

The judge’s decision grants Halle sole custody up until a scheduled court hearing on June 4. According to court filings, the 25-year-old actress and singer isn’t just asking for a temporary change — she wants full custody going forward.

Details Of The Alleged Abuse Rock Fans And The Industry

The disturbing claims laid out in Halle’s restraining order application pull back the curtain on what she says has been a dangerous situation. According to her, the first alleged attack happened back in January 2025.

She said DDG pulled up to her place to pick up their son. As she tried to help buckle Halo into the car seat, she claims DDG snapped on her, yelling, “Get out of my car, bitch.” The incident didn’t stop at verbal abuse. She alleged DDG physically pulled her hair and shoved her face into the steering wheel — hard enough to chip her front tooth.

And yet, even after this alleged incident, Halle got in the car with him to ride to his house — not out of trust, but fear. She didn’t want to leave her baby alone with someone she believed could lash out. When they arrived, she told DDG’s family exactly what had gone down.

She submitted pictures of the chipped tooth and bruises as part of her court request, which convinced the judge to approve both the custody order and a temporary restraining order.
