Stylist and fashion designer Misa Hylton addresses her boot and walker-related injury and explains that while she’d rather heal in privacy, she only showed up to Diddy‘s federal sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy trial to support their son, Justin Combs.
As Diddy’s trial took place in New York City this week, the public not only saw his ex-girlfriend and prosecution’s witness Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine arrive, but also two of the mothers of his children, Misa Hylton and Dana Tran, whom the mogul shares a daughter named Love Combs.
Misa Hylton, in particular, stood out as she arrived with a gray walking boot fitted on her right leg and a walker to match. While Hylton never spoke about her injury with the press, her lawyer addressed the reason she attended her ex’s trial. In a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday (May 13), Hylton’s lawyer Nicholas Ramcharitar said:
“Misa’s appearance and her attendance at Mr. Combs’ trial is strictly in support of her son Justin and his siblings. During the course of these allegations against Mr. Combs, it has proven to be a very challenging and difficult time for all involved, especially his children.”

As mentioned, Diddy’s son Justin Combs was in attendance. Justin’s younger brother Christian “King” Combs and younger twin sisters D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs, who Diddy shares with the late Kim Porter, were also there. Plus, Diddy’s daughter Chance Combs, whom he shares with ex Sarah Chapman. Diddy’s bonus child, Quincy Brown, whom Porter shares with singer Al B. Sure, was also there.
While taking to Instagram on Saturday (May 17), Misa Hylton decided to address her injury and explain why she was at Diddy’s trial. She began:
“Happy Saturday! God is good all the time! Yes, I’m good everyone. I’m on my healing journey. When I suffered my injury I had chosen to heal privately, but when my son said, “Mommy I need you,” I was right there for him, walker and all.”

Misa Hylton continued to tell her followers that her son comes first above all. She explained:
“I’m a MOTHER FIRST, FOR REAL and I am my son’s strength, and thats just what it is. Plain and Simple. Whoever doesn’t understand that just simply isn’t in alignment with me or anything that I’m about in life. I’m cool with that. I have a purpose-filled life that I live daily. I make impact. I’m not concerned with insecure people attempting to project their insecurities onto me. EVER.
Let’s start being real people who do real things again. Don’t let this app rule your life. I promise you it’s really not good for you. Every moment isn’t a glamour moment, your best highlight reel; some moments are as down to the bone as you could ever in your life imagine. Layered and complex.”
Hylton concluded her statement by issuing a special message to her fellow temporarily disabled people and those permanently affected. She said:
“To all of my temporarily disabled and disabled people, don’t ever be ashamed of your condition or the need to use the medical tools created to assist in your healing or the way you need to move around in this world. If you have God in your heart, pray for us all. Be kind, use critical thinking, and hold your head high. Love Always, Misa, aka Jamie Sommers, the realest on any team.
P.S. It took me everything in my soul to not turn into Pac [Tupac Shakur] leaving the courtroom, outside of the courthouse. IYKYK.”
