Kourtney Kardashian Says She Doesn’t Know Why Kids Go To School: “It’s So Outdated

Kourtney Gets Real About Parenting, School Systems And Doing Things Her Own Way

Kourtney Kardashian pulled up on her sister’s brand-new podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, and gave folks something to talk about again.

In a laid-back convo that felt more like two sisters catching up than a formal interview, Kourtney didn’t hold back on how she feels about the traditional school system. Right out the gate, she made it clear she prefers to “go against the grain” when it comes to raising her kids.

“I think living authentically is not conforming to whatever it is,” Kourtney told Khloé. “For me, there’s ways we function as a family that it’s like, if someone does the same thing every day, like, I do it with everything, it’s not (just) about our family.”

And then came the line:

“Let’s say the school system. I’ll think, ‘Why do kids f****** go to school?’ Truly, it’s so dated.”

Whew! The Lemme founder didn’t sugarcoat a thing. She made it clear she feels like school, the way it’s traditionally set up, is stuck in the past. And guess what? Khloé was vibing with her on that.

“Oh, I’m such a homeschool person, so don’t even get going,” Khloé added.

Kourtney’s “Do You” Approach To Parenting Is Shaking Tables

Kourtney kept it all the way 100 as she opened up about how her kids even send her videos asking the same questions she’s thinking.

“So then I’ll start thinking, and then like, you know, my kids will send me videos about, like, ‘Why do kids go to (school)?’ It’ll be like, really successful people, and they’ll be like, ‘My kids never go to school and they’re never going to’ and whatever,” she said. “And then I’m like, ‘OK, what’s the goal here? You want to do homeschool? Let’s do it.’”

She wasn’t just talking to hear herself talk either. Kourtney is serious about doing what works for her and hers — whether folks agree or not.

“I think it’s anything, I will, like, nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. Like, I just, like, want to do that. And whatever, whatever it is, there’s so many things like that where I feel like I kind of do, maybe in the world, generally, maybe does more of what I do, but in the United States (it’s different.)”

She’s not here to fit into the mold, period.

Kourtney’s Big Blended Family, Her Way

Kourtney’s parenting style isn’t just a personal vibe — it’s a full-on lifestyle. She and husband Travis Barker are raising their 18-month-old son Rocky together, along with Kourtney’s three kids — Mason (15), Penelope (12), and Reign (10) — who she shares with Scott Disick.

She’s also stepmom to Travis’ kids — Landon (21), Alabama (19), and stepdaughter Atiana (25), from his previous relationship with Shanna Moakler.

With a house full of teens, toddlers, and everything in between, it makes sense that Kourtney is doing what feels real and right to her, especially when it comes to parenting — from homeschool thoughts to holistic healing and beyond.

Social Media Reacts: “She Ain’t Lying Though!”

Of course, folks online had mixed feelings. Some agreed and said traditional school is outdated and doesn’t prepare kids for the real world. Others said it’s giving “privileged energy” and questioned how realistic that mindset is for everyday parents.

But love her or hate her takes, one thing about Kourtney — she’s going to live on her own terms.
