Latto is explaining why she often mentions body counts in her music and online. Earlier this month, the rapper and her sister, Brooklyn Nikole were on a livestream with streamer Tylil James.
During the stream, Latto asked Tylil if he “cared how many bodies” his girlfriend could have. He said, “Nah hell no. That don’t got nothing to do with me. The f**k?” Latto said, “Okay.” Tylil then fired back and asked the rapper, “Why you always saying that in your music? On my mother, nah. All jokes aside, stop saying that, bro.” Latto countered, “Stop saying what?”
Tylil replied, “Why you always saying in your songs how [manny] bodies you got, though? Who gives a f**k?” Latto asked, “Whoever said—I said I have a low body count.” Tylil said, “No. You always make it seem as if you could count your bodies on one hand.” Lato boasted, “I can. I can, though.” Tylil continued, “Why does that matter, though?” Latto fired off, “Same reason why a b*tches say, ‘F**k yo n***a today and f**k that n***a tomorrow.”
Latto ‘Doesn’t Give A F**k’ If People Believe Her Body Count Can Be Counted On One Hand
Latto’s sister Brooklyn Nikole threw in, “It doesn’t matter, but it’s true to her, though.” As Tylil tried to get his words out, Latto bulldozed, “It’s my music. If I go in the booth and I rap my music, b*tch I’m gonna pop my real life, in real life I got five.”
Tylil asked, “Do you think they believe you?” Latto said, “I don’t give a f**k if they believe me. My n***a believe me.” Tylil reassured her, “But, you don’t gotta say that, though. ‘Cause it’s like you’re lying.” Latto said, “This is my real life, I’m not lying. I’m not lying. Don’t be mad. Don’t be mad ‘cause this c**chie’s squeaky clean. Don’t be mad. Clock that. I’m famous as f**k. If I had more than that, these n***as would be popping out the work, on God.”
Tylil added, “That don’t mean anything, bro. What the f**k? N***as is grown.” Latto agreed, “It don’t mean nothing, but it’s not…” Tylil interjected and said, “You think a n***a is going to have an encounter with you and let it be known? N***as are never going to say anything.” Latto added, “First of all, I’ve been in a relationship for five years.”
Latto On Constantly Mentioning Her Low Body Count: ‘Everybody Ain’t Have Their hands On This Motherf***er’
In a recent interview with Speedy Morman for Complex, Latto again addressed her constant mention of body counts — including her recent viral clip on Tylil James’ livestream. She told him, “Be a boss. Don’t let everybody put their hand in that cookie jar. Period. It’s literally not that deep. I’m pushing, like, be a boss. Don’t let everybody have access to you. Men should be like that too. Y’all just be slanging that motherf***er around.”
Speedy then asked why she feels like women shouldn’t allow men to easily put their hands in the cookie jar. Latto said, “‘Cause they not deserving of it.” Speedy countered, “What if they are?” Latto said, “Then give them some of that cookie.” He then asked, “Well what if it’s more than five [bodies now]?”
Latto threw up her hands, shrugged, and said, “I never said that was a bad thing. Why does me popping my, you know—I never said that was a bad thing.” Speedy then asked why she seemed so proud to have such a low body count. She replied, “I am proud. It’s not necessarily a number that I’m proud of. It’s more so like, everybody can’t touch this. Everybody ain’t have their hands on this motherf***er. It’s a prize. I like that for me.”
