As President Donald Trump turned 79 and hosted the 250th Anniversary parade for the military, millions of anti-Trump Americans across the nation protested in the “No Kings” Day demonstrations, calling out Trump and the ongoing nationwide Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

According to several major reports and viral videos online, the nationwide anti-Trump “No Kings” protests on Saturday (June 14) massively outperformed Donald Trump’s army parade he hosted in Washington, D.C., which happened to also be on his 79th birthday. Leading up to the big event, behind closed doors some Trump administration officials have even referred to it as “Donald Trump’s birthday parade.”

Donald Trump Hosts Military’s 250th Anniversary Parade On His 79th Birthday

According to defense officials via The Hill, the Trump administration dropped at least $45 million on Saturday’s military parade celebrating 250 years of the U.S. Army, which was established on June 14, 1775. Now, ahead of the parade, officials reported that the event would feature 6,600 soldiers, 50 military aircraft, and 150 vehicles.

The parade would also include an extensive air show and flyover, featuring historic aircraft, helicopters, and a demonstration by the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team. During the event, Trump would deliver remarks and swear in 250 new soldiers or reenlisting troops.

During the parade, eventgoers celebrated the Army’s eras: the Revolutionary War; the Civil War; World War I; WWII; the Korean War; the Vietnam War; the Gulf War; the Global War on Terror; the modern Army; and the future. The “family-friendly” parade also featured a festival portion, with live music, meet-and-greets with former NFL players, rock walls, and military demonstrations.

Anti-Trump “No Kings” Protests Draw Millions Of Protesters As Donald Trump Military Parade Seemingly Flops

As Donald Trump hosted his military parade in Washington, D.C., around him in cities big and small stood millions on millions of Americans protesting him in the “No Kings” Day demonstrations. Notably, the turnouts for these nationwide protests trumped that of Trump’s own military/birthday parade.

Across several social media platforms, users were comparing the crowd sizes of Trump’s parade and festival to that of the protests happening in every major city and tiny towns in between. There was an expected 200,000 crowd for Trump’s parade, but those were beginning numbers of Americans showing out in the anti-Trump protests. The protests have marked the largest nationwide anti-Trump demonstrations since his return to the White House.

According to ACLU, there were more than 5 million people marching in the “No Kings” protests in over 2,100 cities and towns across all 50 states. There was also an additional 300 “Kick Out the Clowns” rallies that took place as well.
