Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is facing what appears to be his 27th lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. In this assault and battery case, a woman is claiming that he demanded she massage his buttocks and groin area.

In March 2021, we reported that the NFL launched an investigation into Deshawn Watson after 9 women accused the then-Houston Texan player of sexual assault. Houston Police launched their own investigation, prompting Nike and Beats by Dre to end their deal with him over the mounting sexual misconduct allegations.
Despite the 22+ sexual assault accusations at the time, Watson’s girlfriend, Jilly Anais, remained ten toes down for her man. But that didn’t stop the FBI from launching an investigation into Deshaun Watson. In 2022, Watson was traded from the Texans to the Cleveland Browns and he was soon hit with a 23rd civil lawsuit for alleged sexual assault. By the end of 2023, the number of cases rose to at least 26.
On Monday morning (September 9), a 27th woman in Texas has come forward claiming Deshaun Watson sexually assaulted her four years ago. To note: In July 2015, The New York Times reported that Watson and the Houston Texans reached settlements with 30 women accusing the NFL player of assault. It was reported that 23 of 24 lawsuits were settled in 2022.
Now, a woman, listed as “Jane Doe,” filed her lawsuit in Harris County and alleged that during a 2020 date with the now 28-year-old quarterback, he sexually assaulted her. Doe described herself as a single mother and a young professional who met Watson at a Houston bar when he played for the Texans. She said after texting each other for several months, he allegedly wanted to take her out, but not in public, so she asked him to come to her apartment for dinner.
She alleged that Watson had difficulty finding her place and exploded on her, allegedly screaming, “I don’t have time for this.” Eventually, he found the place, and while she was finishing getting ready she told him to have a seat in her living room. Instead, she claimed that when she was finished, she “shockingly found” him, allegedly, naked and lying face-down on her bed.
She claimed she was “terrified” as he allegedly demanded that she massage his buttocks. She tried to avoid making him upset, as he was “a much larger man” and was “still reeling from Watson’s outburst and aggression on the phone.” She said she “tried to appease Watson by rubbing his back, rather than his buttocks,” but he allegedly “turned over, revealing an erection” and then “continued to demand that Jane Doe massage him, gesturing from his knees to his groin.”

Doe alleged that Watson soon grabbed her and put her on the bed and began to sexually assault her for several minutes. Once she was able to get up, she grabbed “a heavy piece of decor for self-defense” and demanded Watson leave. She claimed he “stormed out” of her apartment “enraged.”
Doe is seeking damages in excess of $1 million because she — as a result of Watson allegedly violating three Sections of the Texas Penal Code (indecent exposure, assault, and indecent assault) — was the alleged victim of someone who created conscious physical and mental pain and suffering, physical impairment, loss of enjoyment of life and peace of mind, reasonable and necessary counseling and therapy and other damages that will be shown at trial.
Additionally, the statute of limitations for similar cases is two years, however, in Texas, the statute extends to five years, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
