Jenelle Thong, who represents Trinidad and Tobago, is sharing a message to her haters after winning the Miss Congeniality Award in the Miss Universe 2024 preliminary competition.

Despite this, she refuses to let negativity ruin her mood and energy ahead of the major show. In a video message posted to her official Instagram page, she slammed the internet trolls. But with grace and class, Jenelle first acknowledge those who have shown her love and support: “I am only coming on for like two seconds because I have rehearsals. Thanks for all the love and support I have been getting for the past couple of days. Yesterday was incredible. I felt so amazing on the stage, and I just want to address one thing, one time only.” She went on to say,

“I was blissfully unaware of what has been happening and the things that have been said about me,” she noted. “My husband wanted me to be focused, which I’m thankful for, but it did eventually come to me, and I was so taken aback by what has been happening. You could imagine what that can do to your psyche hearing things about yourself and seeing things like that right before you go on to the big stage. But I’m so sorry to disappoint the haters, the ones who have negative things to say about me, but I will always be that girl.”

She further emphasized that she refuses to belittle herself to please others and expressed that if her confidence bothers anyone, she’s “sorry.”

Jenelle concluded by reminding everyone that her success stems from her authenticity: “I did what needed to be done, and that is being my authentic and best self and leading on the stage, and that is what I did. So, thank you guys for your love and your support,” Thongs said.
