#Socialites, get a load of this! According to Page Six, a couple was caught having “loud sex” on a huge elephant sculpture ahead of this year’s Art Basel, Miami Beach’s annual art fair.
While Art Basel doesn’t take place until December 6, an eager and aroused couple kicked off the wild antics that usually take place during Miami Beach’s annual art fair. According to Page Six, a couple was busted for having “loud sex” on one of the outdoor installations on display for Art Basel in Miami Beach.
A source told the entertainment and news publication that the excited couple decided to show off their love for each other by fornicating atop a giant “pachyderm” that was set up on South Beach as part of the installation for The Great Elephant Migration, which was represented with a herd of life-sized Indian elephant sculptures. They are reportedly on sale for about $28,000 and proceeds will benefit the artists and other wildlife NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations).

Page Six reported that the herd on display at Miami Beach’s Art Basel is comprised of families of elephants, including babies, adolescents, and full-size adults. The site also reported that the elephants are made from a repurposed invasive weed called Lantana camaraby by a community of 200 artisans called ‘The Real Elephant Collective,’ who live within India’s Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Southern India.
The insider for Page Six claimed that on Monday evening (November 25), “a security guard heard strange noises and went over with his flashlight to investigate. Apparently, he saw a couple on top of one of the big elephants! We do not know how they got up there.”

If you’re wondering what happened after the aroused couple got busted making love atop an elephant sculpture, Page Six reported that they actually avoided getting placed in handcuffs and arrested. Instead, a “sympathetic guard” showed them some leniency and gave them some mercy by letting them evade a trip to the local jailhouse.
The insider said, “He simply asked them to leave, no arrests were made.” In a sort of ironic or poetic twist, The Great Elephant Migration display set up at this year’s Art Basel in Miami Beach is reportedly meant to express “peaceful coexistence.”

Furthermore, the insider told Page Six that the elephant installation at Art Basel wasn’t only admired by this “coital couple.” Reportedly, an “unidentified rapper, who is affiliated with DJ Khaled,” was also spotted around 4 a.m. attempting to film a music video, with the installation as its set.
However, the impromptu production was shut down and everyone was told to vacate the area. Now, the elephant sculptures are being heavily monitored. The insider said officials with Miami Beach’s Art Basel have beefed up security to keep away all the unruly sightseers.
