#Socialites, get into this: The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reportedly arrested more than 300 migrants on Tuesday during coordinated raids across the nation.
White House Border Czar Tom Homan addressed the media on Wednesday, revealing the nature of the arrests. He stated, “In the last 24 hours, ICE arrested over 308 serious criminals. Some of them were murderers. Some of them were rapists. Some of them raped a child.” While trying to defend ICE’s actions, Homan reiterated that the agency is fulfilling its mandate… He told Fox News, “ICE is doing their job, and they’re prioritizing, just as the president said they would. So ICE is performing excellent right now out in the field, and they’re going to continue every day.”
Meanwhile, Senator Katie Boyd Britt of Alabama also confirmed the arrests in a post on X, noting that ICE agents had indeed detained 308 immigrants across the United States, though she did not provide specific details regarding the locations of the raids…
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously stated that President Trump plans to execute “the largest deportation operation of illegal criminals, drug dealers, and human traffickers in American history while simultaneously lowering costs for families,” and clearly he’s waisting no time.
Reports indicate that under President Joe Biden’s more lenient immigration policies, approximately 8 million individuals entered the U.S. illegally. In response, Trump has promised a robust enforcement strategy. He has called on government agencies to prepare to “immediately repel, repatriate, and remove” undocumented immigrants, framing the situation as an “invasion” at the southern border.
In addition to the immigration raids, Trump has taken steps to end birthright citizenship. An executive order issued on his first day back in office states that not all children born in the U.S. will automatically receive U.S. citizenship, a move that has sparked considerable debate and controversy.
As part of a broader overhaul of immigration policy, the U.S. has also begun to halt all refugee travel and processing, leaving thousands in limbo as they wait for the opportunity to enter the country.
