The confrontation reportedly occurred around 10:41 p.m. when Monjah D. James-Wooten, 25, and two accomplices confronted an employee over an order. According to Law And Crime, the trio entered the restaurant, and Wooten pulled out a firearm and fired at the employee during the heated altercation. Surveillance footage showed that the worker returned fire before James-Wooten fired additional rounds, one of which struck the employee in the buttocks.

The Louisville Metro Police reported that the group fled the scene before authorities arrived; however, footage from the incident helped identify James-Wooten. The next day, one of his accomplices contacted the police, confessing that she had been with James-Wooten during the shooting. She also disclosed that she was injured during the incident, allegedly by gunfire from James-Wooten. The Wendy’s employee who was shot was hospitalized but is expected to recover from their injuries.
