Although their discussions remain private, Kamala Harris has relied on close confidants, including family and friends. According to the New York Post, her sister, Maya Harris—a senior adviser during Clinton’s 2016 campaign and chaired Kamala’s 2020 presidential bid—continues to be an influential voice in Harris’ decision-making. Publicly, Harris has vowed to “stay in the fight,” but she has not yet outlined her next steps. Allies speculate about her options, including a run for California governor in 2026, another presidential bid in 2028, or stepping away from public office altogether.
Additionally, Harris recently formed an LLC named Pioneer49, referencing her Secret Service codename and role as the 49th vice president. Despite criticism following her 2024 campaign, she has refrained from publicly criticizing President Biden, who suggested he might have fared better against Trump had he remained in the race.
