Telemundo Reporter's Death Linked to Woman with History of Drugging Men

Danette Colbert, 48, was caught on surveillance footage leaving Manzano’s hotel room moments before she allegedly went shopping with his credit card. According to the New York Post, Manzano was found unresponsive by hotel staff 12 hours after Colbert left, and authorities have conducted a toxicology test to determine if he was drugged before his death. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley revealed Colbert has a history of drugging men and stealing credit cards.

In 2022, she was previously charged in Nevada for allegedly drugging a man, and in 2016, she was arrested for stealing a man’s credit card after meeting him on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. She attempted to use his card at Walmart, leading to her arrest. Despite her criminal record, Colbert has only been charged with bank fraud and theft.

Manzano’s death is even more heartbreaking given that his 24-year-old wife, Ashleigh Boyd, tragically died in a car accident last April. Now, their toddler daughter is left without both parents. Telemundo Kansas City released a statement on their Facebook page responding to his death.
